who needs a qb today?

After watching this week's nfl action, it's been determined that the overall landscape of qb play in the nfl this year kinda stinks. Take a look at the Tennessee Titans. Vince Young and Jeff Fisher go at it; Young nearly loses his job. Who's the backup? Good ol' father time, Kerry Collins. Effective? no. In comes Rusty Smith. Who? He made his first start yesterday...result: shutout 20-0. Let's just say they need a quarterback. You know, that Andrew Luck guy from Stanford sounds good. Ryan Mallett of Arkansas, maybe? Let's go through the rundown of who's bleeding from under center this year.

Arizona Cardinals:
Derek Anderson and Max Hall. Hall is an undrafted rookie out of BYU. Anderson is a career backup who had one strong season in 07 with the Browns. Ask these guys how much of a difference Anquan Boldin is.

Minnesota Vikings:
Hmm, I wonder if they dropped the ball not drafting Colt McCoy or Jimmy Clausen. The only team who's starting qb is picking up weekly social security checks.

San Fransisco 49ers:
Although Troy Smith has given this team a jolt of energy with his mobility, it could be too late in the season to: one, save mike singeltary's job, and two: look for the answer(yet again) at qb. Luck is a consensus pick as a west coast kid, also out there is talented-but-raw Washington senior qb Jake Locker, or preseason Heisman canidate Case Keenum from Houston.

Seattle Seahawks:
Yes, they lead football's most decrepit division. Their backup situation is practically non-existent, however. Finding a future franchise qb to replace Matt Hasselbeck is paramount for Pete Carroll. He is a quarterback guy, after all. Taking a flier on local boy Locker would be big with some fans, but a more obvious choice for the West Coast offense is Boise's Kellen Moore, who is never sacked and oh-so accurate.
